Our Mission

The mission of the SubMERG Lab is to conduct use-inspired marine science that spans climate change, foundation species, thresholds/tipping points, ecosystem services, population dynamics, marine conservation, marine protected areas and fishery sustainability. To accomplish this mission, we rely on collaboration and partnerships and use a combination of field work, Scuba, long-term monitoring, laboratory experimentation and population modeling to inform marine management and ocean conservation.

Statement on Diversity and Inclusion

The SubMERG Lab is committed to creating and encouraging a lab culture of diversity equity and inclusion with a deep appreciation for diverse backgrounds, experiences and knowledge bases.

We welcome lab members with a diversity of gender identities, sexual orientation, ethnicities, countries of origin, races, religions, different abilities, veteran and parental status.
